[Remote] Linux Security Automation Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. EDZ Systems is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the delivery of automation solutions that enhance privileged access security practices.

This role focuses on designing and deploying automated solutions across Unix, Linux, and AIX operating systems, improving operational efficiency and replacing manual processes.

Responsibilities Partner with the AES Service Owner to identify, prioritize, and deliver automation solutionsCollaborate with customers, service partners, SMEs, and internal teams to gather and define automation requirementsDesign, develop, and deploy automation scripts to improve:Server lifecycle managementBusiness process workflowsPrivileged access elevation capabilitiesSystem integrationsEnterprise technology deliveryDesign, program, model, test, and optimize automated systems and workflowsDevelop and enhance automation frameworks, standards, and strategiesApply strong programming and scripting skills to rapidly deliver scalable automation solutionsCreate and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and training materialsParticipate in weekly stand-ups and team meetings within a Kanban-based delivery modelContinuously identify process improvement opportunities and cost reduction initiativesProvide technical mentorship to junior team members, including conducting code reviews Skills 3+ years of experience in a security-focused engineering role with emphasis on \Nix operating systems: Unix, Linux, RHEL, AIX, SolarisStrong understanding of operating system fundamentals and administration principlesHands-on experience with scripting/programming languages such as: Bash, Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, Perl, PHPStrong understanding of Privileged Access Management (PAM) and information security principlesExperience automating infrastructure or security-related processesExcellent technical writing and verbal communication skillsHighly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environmentsCISSP certification preferredExperience working in a Kanban or Agile development environmentAssociate degree in Information Technology or related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience Company Overview EDZ Systems is a certified minority- woman-owned small business providing software development and strategic consulting services.
