Job Description
Robotics Engineer Jobs in Tijuana (Remote) Robotics engineers design, build, integrate, and validate robotic systems that combine embedded control, sensors, and software to automate real-world tasks.
These remote, full-time roles are aligned to Tijuana hiring needs and collaboration with distributed teams, focusing on perception, motion planning, controls, and system integration for production-grade robots.
About The Role You will deliver end-to-end robotics engineering across prototyping, simulation, integration, and field validation.
Work spans ROS/ROS2 architecture (nodes, messaging, lifecycle), control loops, perception pipelines (camera/LiDAR/IMU), and rigorous testing to meet performance and safety targets.
You will partner with mechanical, electrical, and QA stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable robotic behaviors and improve uptime through telemetry and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Design and implement robotic software components using ROS/ROS2, C++, and Python with clear interfaces and maintainable architecture.Develop perception and sensor fusion pipelines (camera, LiDAR, IMU, encoders) for localization, obstacle detection, and state estimation.Build motion planning and control modules (PID/MPC concepts, trajectory generation, constraints) to achieve stable and safe robot behavior.Create simulation-first workflows (Gazebo/Ignition or equivalent) for rapid iteration, regression tests, and performance benchmarking.Integrate embedded/real-time interfaces and drivers with deterministic timing where required and robust error handling.Define validation plans, automated tests, and hardware-in-the-loop checks; investigate failures using logs, metrics, and telemetry.Collaborate across disciplines on kinematics, calibration, safety interlocks, and deployment requirements.Document design decisions, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides to improve onboarding and operational readiness.
Required Qualifications Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics features from concept through integration and validation.Strong C++ and Python skills with production practices (code review, testing, CI/CD basics).Hands-on ROS/ROS2 development (message definitions, TF frames, launch files, debugging tools).Knowledge of robotics fundamentals: kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and motion planning.Linux-based development, profiling, and debugging distributed systems.Familiarity with sensor calibration, time synchronization, and noisy real-world data.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with SLAM, localization, and mapping (indoor/outdoor).Computer vision for robotics and performance optimization.Embedded systems exposure (microcontrollers, real-time constraints, CAN/serial/Ethernet).Safety standards awareness and test-driven validation processes.Deployment experience for industrial automation, AMRs, or robotic manipulation.
Compensation Competitive hourly base pay: $30–$50 per hour (USD), depending on experience and scope. How To Apply Apply via Rex.zone and highlight shipped robotics systems, ROS/ROS2 modules (perception, planning, controls), and your simulation/testing approach.
