Front End Developer

Salary: £80,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements

• We need strong front end engineering experience with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
• We need practical hands-on experience with AWS production systems, including SQS for message processing and SES for transactional email delivery.
• We need experience running workloads on Kubernetes and Amazon EKS, including debugging pod, container, and networking issues.
• We need solid observability and diagnostics skills, including log aggregation, metrics analysis, and root cause investigation in distributed systems.
• We need familiarity with production support workflows, including incident triage, escalation, handover documentation, and post-incident reviews.
• We need excellent written communication skills and confidence working independently across time zones.
• We need the ability to balance feature delivery with live system support and work across both legacy codebases and greenfield development.

Responsibilities

• We build and maintain product features as part of a cross-functional engineering team working to a planned roadmap.
• We act as the primary engineering contact during Australian off-hours and provide first-line engineering coverage during standard UK working hours.
• We investigate production issues using logs, metrics, and monitoring tools, carrying out incident triage, remediation, and clear handover documentation.
• We work with Kubernetes-based workloads on AWS, diagnosing deployment, scaling, and runtime issues across SQS and SES services.
• We collaborate daily with the Australian team on handovers, sprint planning, technical alignment, and ongoing knowledge transfer.
• We contribute to post-incident reviews and long-term reliability improvements.
