Product Manager - Data, Analytics & AI

Salary: £36,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements

• An understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices and practicalities to help resolve delivery challenges.
• Knowledge of Analytics systems and databases such as Teradata, Hadoop and other SQL or NoSQL technologies.
• Knowledge of business intelligence and visualisation tools.
• Expertise in tools and techniques for backlog prioritisation, managing dependencies and gaining insights using available data points.
• Broad knowledge and understanding of the technologies relevant to data platforms.
• Experience creating outputs for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong decision-making and prioritisation skills, especially when multiple trade-offs are involved and faster decisions are required.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, writing effective user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Interest in AI and curiosity about how it can be used innovatively to help colleagues use data and provide new product capabilities.
• Minimum 2 years of product management experience.
• Proven success in working on unstructured problems, defining hypotheses, creating MVPs, running experiments and analysing results to drive data-driven decisions.
• Experience working with distributed, global teams and coordinating across multiple stakeholders, landing large-scale change in an enterprise environment.
• Experience creating an impact with data and analytics.
• Prioritisation and decision-making skills demonstrating how these have taken into account business priorities, complexity, dependencies and value.

Responsibilities

• Formulate the vision, strategy and roadmap for building analytics capabilities across the data and analytics portfolio, and align strategic priorities, dependencies and roadmap across the product portfolio.
• Plan and coordinate analytical products that have dependencies on multiple product and engineering teams.
• Lead discovery work around a minimum viable product for new analytical products, collaborating with analysts and engineering teams to prototype and validate a minimum viable product.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by working with the data supply and demand team.
• Break down complex work and epics into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered faster.
• Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams on short-term tasks and near-term priorities.
• Empower teams across Tesco to use the analytics environment to get the most from performance reviews and business insights.
