ACI Network Engineer

Salary: £104,000 - 106,600 per year

Requirements

• We require 5 years of experience in network engineering or data center infrastructure.
• We require 3 years of hands-on experience with Cisco ACI design, deployment, and operations.
• We require strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, VLAN, VXLAN, and BGP, as well as data center networking.
• We require proficiency with Cisco ACI Management Information Tree (MIT) and policy model concepts.
• We require experience with ACI configuration and monitoring tools such as APIC and the Cisco ACI simulator.
• We require familiarity with network automation and scripting, with Python and REST APIs preferred.
• We require knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and OpenStack, as well as container technologies.
• We require excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently on complex problems.
• We prefer candidates with CCNA or higher certification.
• We prefer candidates with Cisco ACI Specialist certification.
• We prefer experience with SD-WAN solutions and cloud networking integration.
• We prefer hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
• We prefer knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements such as NIST and PCI-DSS.
• We prefer experience with IT service management tools and change management processes.
• We require technical skills in Cisco ACI, network switches and routing platforms, scripting languages such as Python or Bash, monitoring and analytics platforms, and network troubleshooting tools.

Responsibilities

• We design and deploy ACI fabric architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.
• We configure and manage ACI constructs including tenants, application profiles, EPGs, contracts, and policies.
• We implement network segmentation and security policies using ACI microsegmentation capabilities.
• We develop and maintain documentation for ACI topologies, policies, and configurations.
• We troubleshoot and perform health checks on ACI fabrics using diagnostic tools and CLI commands.
• We monitor ACI fabric performance and optimize configurations for availability and efficiency.
• We collaborate with storage, compute, and application teams to integrate ACI with broader infrastructure.
• We work with cross-functional teams to build and optimize enterprise-grade data center networking environments.
• We design, implement, and manage Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) solutions.
• We support network automation and integration efforts where required.

We are seeking an experienced ACI Engineer for a 6-month contract starting ASAP, working either remotely from the UK or remotely from the EU. This role offers a day rate of £400 via an umbrella solution for UK-based resources inside IR35, or circa €430 per day via payroll company gross for EU-based resources. We are focused on building and optimizing enterprise-grade data center networking environments, and we work closely with cross-functional teams across storage, compute, and application functions.
