Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements

• Extensive experience in a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer role
• Exposure to Open Source, Containerisation and DevOps methodologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet etc.)
• Linux OS maintenance, including software rollout procedures and backup software management (RedHat and/or Ubuntu)
• In-depth experience in technical support across varying hardware and software platforms
• Ability to understand user requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Varied Windows and Linux Operating Systems administration skills
• Strong networking skills including LAN/WAN and TCP/IP
• Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware/KVM/QEMU/Xen)

Responsibilities

• Support and manage server and storage infrastructure across a self-hosted estate to meet Service Level Agreements
• Develop and transform the virtualised compute platform using a range of virtualisation and container technologies
• Collaborate with Technical Analysts to maintain Information systems in accordance with agreed priorities and standards
• Keep documentation up-to-date and assist in training and support for users
• Investigate user requirements for application and infrastructure changes, designing and implementing solutions
• Regularly analyse systems for future planned capacity and functionality
• Support IT development processes for improved products and services
• Ensure smooth functioning of the IT infrastructure, liaising with multiple teams and stakeholders as required
