Software Engineer TypeScript Next.js SQL

Salary: £45,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements

• Commercial experience with TypeScript across both frontend and backend development
• Experience with Next.js, NestJS, and modern web application architecture
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills, ideally with PostgreSQL
• Experience working on production systems and business applications
• Good understanding of APIs, system integrations, and data flows
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams
• Go experience is desirable
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and API integrations is desirable
• Exposure to operational, finance, or data-heavy systems is desirable
• Familiarity with AI development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor is desirable
• Experience working in fast-paced product or operational environments is desirable

Responsibilities

• Build and improve business-critical applications and internal systems
• Develop features across frontend and backend services using TypeScript, Next.js, and NestJS
• Support integrations, operational workflows, and customer-facing functionality
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and support teams to solve technical challenges
• Investigate bugs, edge cases, and data-related issues
• Write scalable, maintainable, and reliable code
• Contribute to improvements in system reliability, documentation, and engineering practices
• Use AI-assisted development tools as part of our day-to-day development workflows

We offer up to £55,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and flexible working arrangements with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
