Job Description
Position-1 Role: Mainframe DevOps Architect Location: Remote (USA preferred; open to Canada & India – must work CST hours) Role Summary: Looking for a highly experienced Mainframe DevOps Architect to lead DevOps transformation initiatives in z/OS environments Strong expertise in CI/CD, automation, and integration of mainframe systems with modern DevOps toolchains is required DevOps Strategy & Architecture: Define and implement enterprise DevOps strategy for mainframe applications Design end-to-end DevOps architecture integrating legacy systems with modern platforms Establish best practices for version control, release management, and governance Drive DevOps culture adoption across development, QA, and operations teams CI/CD & Automation: Design and build CI/CD pipelines for COBOL, PL/I, JCL, and DB2 applications Automate build, test, and deployment processes using modern DevOps tools Implement shift-left practices, automated testing, and continuous integration Monitor and optimize pipeline performance, reliability, and scalability Mainframe Development & Tooling: Work with IBM toolsets including DBB (Dependency Based Build), IDz, and IDD Integrate mainframe development workflows with enterprise DevOps ecosystems Enable seamless collaboration between distributed and mainframe teams Version Control & Integration: Implement Git-based version control using platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket Define branching strategies and release workflows Integrate mainframe tools with modern CI/CD and DevOps pipelines Testing, Quality & Governance: Implement automated testing frameworks for mainframe applications Integrate code quality and static analysis tools Ensure compliance with security, governance, and enterprise standards Cloud & Modernization (Preferred): Exposure to hybrid cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience with mainframe modernization and API enablement Familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes is a plus Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with development, QA, infrastructure, and operations teams Lead DevOps transformation initiatives and mentor engineering teams Communicate effectively with stakeholders and client leadership Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in mainframe development and architecture (z/OS) Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins Experience with IBM tools: DBB, IDz, IDD Strong scripting skills in Groovy, Shell, or Python Experience with Git-based repositories and branching strategies Proven experience designing and implementing mainframe DevOps pipelines Good to Have: Experience with legacy SCM tools such as Endevor, Changeman, or ISPW Knowledge of z/OS Connect and API integration Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies Position 2 Job Description: Mainframe Automation Engineer (IBM System Automation) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Automation Engineer with strong expertise in IBM Z System Automation and migration from CA/Broadcom automation tools.
The role focuses on modernizing and optimizing automation frameworks on IBM Z systems, ensuring high availability and operational efficiency.
