Salary: £35,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements

  • Strong Python skills; this is a backend-focused role.
  • Confidence working with AWS services, particularly DynamoDB, S3, containers, and ECS.
  • Solid understanding of APIs and endpoint-based integrations, including working with unfamiliar external systems and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiarity with AWS Lambda and streams is desirable.
  • Basic frontend awareness, such as jQuery or Svelte, is desirable.
  • Exposure to FTP/SFTP-based export retrieval is desirable.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, recruitment systems, or adjacent operational software is desirable.
  • Previous customer-facing technical work or integration-heavy experience is desirable.
  • We are looking for someone who is comfortable with structured, repeatable, process-driven work.
  • You should be highly detail-oriented and diligent, with a strong sense of integrity.
  • You should have the patience to check data thoroughly and spot risks or edge cases.
  • You should be independent and reliable in your execution.
  • You should know when to escalate or ask for review.
  • You should manage your time well against fixed deadlines and rolling delivery pressures.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day delivery of customer data migrations onto our platform, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Work across both established and new migration types, becoming increasingly self-sufficient.
  • Transform, validate, and troubleshoot complex customer datasets.
  • Liaise with internal teams and customers, including joining calls to explain technical issues and support delivery.
  • Feed back edge cases, documentation gaps, and process improvements to the team owning migration architecture.
  • Work closely with the migrations product manager and lead migration engineers.
  • Help build out new migration types with support from senior engineers as you grow into the role.

This is a full-time, permanent Data Migration Engineer role based remotely in the UK, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
