Remote Freelance Data Scientist (Python & SQL) - AI Trainer

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements

• We require a Masters or PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• We require at least 5 years of hands-on data science experience with proven business impact.
• We require a portfolio of completed projects and publications showcasing real-world problem-solving.
• We require proficiency in Python programming for data science, including pandas, numpy, scipy, and scikit-learn.
• We require expertise in statistical analysis and machine learning, with a deep understanding of algorithms, methods, and their practical applications.
• We require proficiency in SQL and database operations for data manipulation and analysis.
• We value experience with GenAI technologies, including LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, and vector databases.
• We value knowledge of MLOps practices and model deployment workflows.
• We value familiarity with modern frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and LangChain.
• We require advanced English proficiency at C1 level or above.
• We require adaptability, the ability to switch quickly between tasks and topics, and comfort working with challenging, complex guidelines.
• We require the ability to work remotely with a laptop, internet connection, available time, and enthusiasm to take on challenges.

Responsibilities

• We design original computational data science problems that simulate real-world analytical workflows across industries.
• We create Python-based problems using libraries such as pandas, numpy, scipy, sklearn, statsmodels, matplotlib, and seaborn.
• We ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes.
• We develop problems that require non-trivial reasoning in data processing, statistical analysis, feature engineering, predictive modeling, and insight extraction.
• We create deterministic problems with reproducible answers, avoiding stochastic elements or using fixed random seeds.
• We base problems on real business challenges such as customer analytics, risk assessment, fraud detection, forecasting, optimization, and operational efficiency.
• We design end-to-end problems spanning the full data science pipeline from data ingestion and cleaning through EDA, modeling, validation, and deployment considerations.
• We incorporate big data processing scenarios that require scalable computational approaches.
• We verify solutions using Python with standard data science libraries and statistical methods.
• We document problem statements clearly with realistic business context and provide verified correct answers.
• We create training prompts and refine model responses as part of our freelance projects.
