Rust Developer - Remote (UK Based)

Salary: £42,000 - 72,500 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for senior backend software engineers with solid recent commercial Rust experience.
• We value a strong wider backend engineering background in Go, C++, Java, or similar technologies.
• We want engineers who still enjoy hands-on coding and solving difficult technical problems.
• We are looking for experience working with backend services and APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native development, and SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with AI-assisted software engineering tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor is an advantage.

We are hiring 2 Senior Backend Rust Engineers to join a major long-term platform transformation programme. This is a fully remote contract role that sits outside IR35, with an initial 6-month term and strong extension potential. We are rebuilding and modernising a business-critical platform, so this is a substantial engineering challenge with a significant roadmap ahead. You will join an experienced engineering team in a fast-moving interview process, and we are especially interested in engineers who want meaningful, hands-on work rather than short-term BAU tasks.
