IT Systems Administrator

Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements

• Practical understanding of cloud services (Azure, AWS, or equivalent)
• Solid M365 administration experience including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, conditional access, and licence management
• Hands-on experience with AD, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP for managing the current Windows Server estate
• Strong TCP/IP, VPN, firewall, and VLAN fundamentals
• Experience deploying and managing Windows endpoints at scale
• Genuine understanding of cyber security principles and current best practices
• Clear communicator with non-technical colleagues and senior stakeholders
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across England
• Relevant certifications (AZ-104, MS-102, CompTIA Security+) are welcome but not required

Responsibilities

• Deliver the technical execution of migrating the server estate to a cloud model
• Manage Active Directory, AD Connect, and Entra ID
• Maintain the existing RDS environment and research modern alternatives
• Administer the M365 tenant including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams
• Manage the current backup regime and contribute to disaster recovery planning
• Execute the approved plan to standardise networks across all sites
• Manage WAN circuits and site-to-site VPN architecture
• Maintain switches, wireless access points, cabling, and IP addressing across sites
• Procure, build, deploy, and dispose of laptops and peripherals
• Continuously improve the technical security posture of the group
• Implement and maintain a structured patching and vulnerability management process
• Support Cyber Essentials certification and manage IT governance
• Provide hands-on support across all nine sites
• Act as the on-site responder for infrastructure incidents
• Use SolarWinds IT Service Desk for ticketing and monitoring
• Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes
