Requirements
- Previous experience in an IT helpdesk, service desk, technical support or similar customer-facing IT role
- Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration
- Experience creating and managing user accounts
- Experience with password resets and licence administration
- Experience supporting Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint
- Experience troubleshooting desktop and laptop issues
- Comfortable resolving common 1st Line issues and willing to learn
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical information simply
- Calm, customer-focused approach when handling frustrated users
- Organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple support requests at once
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to your own car for travel to customer sites across Kent
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support by telephone, email and remote support tools
- Log, prioritise and manage support tickets
- Troubleshoot Windows desktop and laptop issues
- Support Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online environments
- Create and remove user accounts
- Manage Microsoft 365 licences and reset passwords
- Assist with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint permissions
- Support software installations, configurations and updates
- Diagnose hardware, printer and peripheral issues
- Carry out basic troubleshooting across LAN, Wi-Fi and VPN connections
- Support mobile phones, tablets and VoIP systems
- Escalate more complex issues to senior engineers
- Keep customers updated throughout the support process
- Maintain clear and accurate ticket notes
- Visit customer sites when remote support is not possible

We work with customers of all sizes across a broad range of industries, giving our team exposure to a diverse mix of environments, technologies and support requirements. This is a genuine home-based opportunity with occasional travel to customer sites across Kent when issues cannot be resolved remotely, typically around once or twice a week depending on customer needs. We offer a 37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with rotating shifts of 8:30am to 5:00pm and 9:00am to 5:30pm. Business mileage is reimbursed, and we would like you to live within a reasonable travelling distance of Maidstone and the wider Kent area.
