Requirements

- Hands-on experience and working knowledge of security-related legislation, such as GDPR, PCI DSS and ICO requirements.
- Working knowledge of security control frameworks such as NCSC Cyber Assurance Framework, ISO 27001, NIST CSF and CIS.
- Understanding of HMG and NCSC security policies, standards and guidance.
- Good understanding of cyber risk management in an agile delivery environment.
- Good understanding of modern IT technologies and services such as cloud computing (Azure, M365, AWS, Google), mobile computing, IT security, infrastructure technologies and Zero Trust.
- Understanding of security architecture.
- Skilled in workshop facilitation, particularly for risk identification and assessment.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC or other.
- Achieved or working towards Full Membership of CIISEC and UK Cyber Security Council professional registration at Chartered or Principal level for Cyber Security Governance & Risk Management.
Responsibilities
- Work within our Consulting team, supporting new and existing clients across various sectors to define and implement security risk assessment and best practice solutions.
- Partner closely with clients to deliver expert services by complementing their in-house Information and Cyber Security resources.
- Identify risks relating to security architecture and maintain awareness of published vulnerabilities and best practices across multiple platforms, especially cloud infrastructures.
- Help clients make the best use of their existing technology and make proportionate, risk-informed decisions.
- Ensure protection of client assets and support transformation of their security architecture.
- Work cross-functionally with the Delivery Manager and others to support and assure project delivery through all phases of the agile workflow.
- Provide expert advice on cyber risk management, assessment principles and frameworks such as ISO27005 and the NIST Risk Management Framework.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to help ensure products are delivered securely and aligned with wider business risk appetite.
- Manage and support risk identification, assessment, remediation and risk treatment for digital systems, applications and infrastructure.
- Identify and validate technical, procedural, physical and personnel security controls, and recommend actions to address vulnerabilities and control weaknesses.
- Facilitate cyber risk workshops and threat modelling to identify and assess risks arising from solution architectures.
- Support the scoping of IT Health Checks and review outcomes, providing advice, guidance and action plans where required.
- Produce informative and succinct reporting on vulnerabilities, associated risks, controls and risk treatment activity.
- Produce residual risk registers.
- Provide pragmatic remediation and risk management guidance.
- Conduct security gap analysis against security control frameworks, including remediation planning and monitoring.
- Evaluate third-party suppliers to assure the effective design and operation of security controls.
- Produce security audit reports, checklists and briefings.
- Share knowledge with our team, clients and the wider Cyberfort community, including contributing to group blogs and research related to technology enhancements.
