Backend Interface Developer

Salary: £45,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements

• A university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related science subject.
• Strong understanding of HL7 and FHIR message exchange protocols.
• Sound understanding of NHS data standards.
• Expertise in .NET, C#, and C++.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN and Git.
• Some familiarity with SQL database engines, preferably MS SQL Server, including stored procedures and optimisation.
• At least 2 years of relevant development industry experience.
• Experience in an agile development environment is desirable.
• Experience with clinical safety standards (DCB0129/0160, IEC 62304) is desirable.
• Knowledge of the healthcare industry and NHS is desirable.
• Exposure to medical device software or diagnostic platforms is desirable.
• Unit testing framework experience, such as MSTest, NUnit, or NSubstitute, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Extend HL7 interfaces as required by business and product expansion.
• Develop non-HL7 data transport interfaces as needed.
• Assist in the development and design of software units and applications to meet specifications.
• Develop software units and applications according to design specifications.
• Participate in the production of technical documentation.
• Write efficient, well-structured code that conforms to current standards.
• Contribute to improvements in the development process.
