Senior Cyber Software Engineer / Technical Lead

Salary: £59,000 - 99,000 per year

Requirements

• Familiarity with a variety of development tools, including IDEs, debuggers, and source control, as well as techniques such as unit testing, mocking, continuous integration, and test-driven development.
• Knowledge of the principles of high-assurance development and an awareness of the importance of IT security for companies and governments.
• Intermediate to advanced understanding of computing principles, such as stack and heap distinction and compiled versus interpreted languages.
• Proficiency with at least one solution language, such as C++, Java, or C#, and one utility language, such as Python, JavaScript, Perl, or PowerShell.
• Ability to use and configure more than one major operating system.
• Ability to pick up new languages and technologies easily.
• Ability to communicate technical topics clearly to a variety of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring others and/or leading technical tasks.

Responsibilities

• We deliver solutions to our customers using a range of development methodologies, while factoring operational security into system design, development, and testing.
• We work in teams to deliver high-assurance code, conduct constructive peer reviews, and share knowledge with junior team members.
• We design, develop, test, and document software in line with business and industry best practices to meet customer requirements, leveraging continuous integration where appropriate.
• We embrace emerging technology, tools, and language trends, while identifying the risks they may present.
• We identify flaws during solution design and implementation and develop appropriate mitigations.
