Requirements

• Previous experience of having done product development using agile methodologies
• Hands-on experience of building and supporting reliable and operationally robust distributed Java applications / products
• Any previous experience of having contributed in globally distributed software engineering teams would be a big plus
• Demonstrated impact across a software engineering team
• Experience designing, developing and operating backend components or services
• Exposure to agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Ability to support and collaborate with other engineers across development practice, infrastructure, software security, operations and maintenance, and the development lifecycle

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, resilient Java-based backend services, APIs, and microservices to support fulfilment workflows and systems
• Implement and ship end-to-end stories, primarily focused on frontend with some backend integration
• Take ownership of medium-sized features and participate in their design and delivery
• Work closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand problems and propose solutions
• Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to peer reviews to raise the teams quality bar
• Help onboard junior engineers and share knowledge across the team
• Apply best practices and contribute to improving development processes and standards
• Develop robust, scalable, and efficient backend services to optimise fulfilment operations and drive operational success
