Requirements

  • We must have an aptitude and ambition to be a successful member of our Technology & Transformation team, working in digital transformation, application design and implementation, or process design and implementation.
  • We seek independent thinkers who also thrive as part of a team, with excellent communication and presentation skills and a passion for driving change and real impact in the Wealth Management industry.
  • We need technically minded solution architects who can analyse complex problems in detail and deliver technical solutions.
  • We require deep technology knowledge and experience designing and implementing end-to-end solution architectures and innovative solutions within a digital transformation programme, including cross-platform integration of emerging technology solutions with existing core platforms.
  • We require experience operating within an architectural design or technology delivery function in a leading Wealth Management firm, consulting firm, Wealthtech, or a leading firm outside Financial Services.
  • We require experience or a good understanding of at least one Wealth Management sector, the underlying business processes across the value chain, and key technology vendors for the sector.
  • We require demonstrated technology delivery experience with an understanding of all stages of the delivery lifecycle, including discovery, design, delivery, and transition.
  • We require in-depth knowledge of at least one key architectural domain, including data, integration, business, application, and operational architecture.
  • We require experience assessing IT landscapes and business drivers, and understanding the impact of emerging technologies to define target and transition state architectures.
  • We require experience providing technical design governance, solution quality assurance, and design reviews.
  • We require experience leading teams or workstreams within a wider complex digital transformation programme.
  • We require understanding and experience delivering through waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • We require experience owning or developing architectural artefacts such as high-level design documents, reference architectures, functional or technical design specifications, and integration designs.
  • We require understanding of cloud capability and solutions, including application, business case, and benefits.
  • We require strong stakeholder management skills, including independently engaging and managing a range of client and internal stakeholders, including senior client representatives.
  • We require the ability to analyse and define solution options, gather consensus, and drive decision making from business and IT stakeholders.
  • Desirable: familiarity with modern software delivery tooling such as Jira, Confluence, QA, and CI/CD tools.
  • Desirable: adaptability and ability to shift focus and work with varied subject matters across different projects.
  • Desirable: knowledge of a typical end-to-end IT architecture, key systems, and key challenges for at least one Wealth Management sector.
  • Desirable: appreciation of emerging technology and trends in the Wealth Management industry.
  • Desirable: demonstrable knowledge, delivery experience, or certification with one or more core Wealth Management applications.
  • Desirable: certification or demonstrated knowledge of one of the major Cloud Service Providers.
  • Desirable: awareness, appreciation, and experience in leveraging emerging technologies and their application to the Wealth Management industry.
  • Desirable: industry certifications such as BCS, Agile/Scrum, and SAFe.
  • Desirable: enterprise or solution architecture certification such as TOGAF or Zachman.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery programmes by leading the creation of modern solution architectures and technical designs.
  • Collaborate with multi-capability teams, senior business stakeholders, and IT stakeholders, and take accountability for the quality and timely delivery of our teams deliverables.
  • Support and lead clients in creating or providing perspective on their technology strategies, roadmaps, and delivery programmes.
  • Ensure investment is directed to the right technology and delivered in the right order.
  • Build effective client relationships with senior and peer-level stakeholders across business and technical domains, including IT and Operations.
  • Perform a tech lead role by guiding the client throughout the project and programme lifecycle from Discovery through to Implementation.
  • Provide technical design governance, solution quality assurance, and design reviews to keep complex technology programmes on track.
  • Lead the generation of thought leadership and continuous capability development of the Solution Architecture practice.
  • Strengthen our architecture capability by coaching junior team members and leading the definition and implementation of Deloitte accelerators and standards.
  • Lead and contribute to business development work, including pre-sales, bid preparation, client presentations, and proposition development.
  • Help drive the continued growth of the Wealth Management practice and support our commitment to a more diverse and inclusive culture.
