Requirements

• Strong experience with Azure DevOps at scale
• Expertise in Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions
• Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Key Vault, and networking, including Private Endpoints
• Proven background in cloud security, CI/CD, observability, and deployment automation
• Experience delivering within secure and regulated environments such as government or healthcare
• Knowledge of compliance requirements aligned to government and GDPR standards
• Familiarity with accessibility compliance aligned to WCAG 2.1 AA standards

Responsibilities

• Support the recovery and delivery of a critical digital programme
• Conduct a comprehensive audit of technical debt
• Align stakeholders and assess governance and compliance gaps
• Review platform security and operational setup
• Develop a roadmap for a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
• Present a clear recovery strategy outlining what to stop, start, and continue
• Drive technical readiness for Beta assessment
• Prioritise API development using a risk-based approach
• Establish a sustainable operating model for long-term delivery
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines
• Enhance platform observability and monitoring
• Drive secure, scalable cloud platform delivery

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Consultant to support the recovery of a stalled digital programme through a structured, outcome-driven approach. This is a remote contract role with occasional travel to Leeds, typically 1 to 2 days per month, offered at £470 per day inside IR35 for an initial 3-month rolling engagement. The role requires BPSS clearance and will focus on delivering a secure, scalable platform aligned to government, GDPR, and accessibility standards while helping us prepare for public Beta at scale.
