Data Engineer (SC Cleared)

Salary: £125,000 - 150,000 per year

Requirements

• Active SC Security Clearance is essential.
• Strong Power BI experience is required.
• In-depth Power BI expertise, including datasets, semantic models, and data modelling.
• Experience working with SQL-based data sources.
• Power BI Copilot AI-assisted tooling experience is preferred.
• Government or public sector experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• We need someone to analyse and maintain Power BI datasets, semantic models, and reports.
• We need someone to ensure Power BI models and reports are well-structured and aligned to upstream curated data sources.
• We need someone to ensure a clean separation between data processing and reporting.
• We need someone to refactor Power BI models to consume curated upstream data sources.
• We need someone to ensure business logic is implemented upstream rather than embedded in reports.
• We need someone to validate report behaviour, measures, and refresh processes following data model changes.

We are offering a 6-month rolling contract for a Data Engineer based in Leeds on a hybrid working pattern, with 3-4 days per week remote and 1-2 days per week on-site. This is an inside IR35 contract paying up to £500-600 per day. The role offers the chance to work with a leading global IT transformation on a large-scale government project, with an expected start as soon as possible in September 2026.
