Salary: £44,000 - 84,000 per year
Requirements
- Degree in oceanography, marine science, data science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent
- Experience in oceanographic data processing, principally from current doppler profilers, marine sensors, and wave buoys
- Experience using MATLAB, including scripting and debugging
- Advanced user of MS Excel
- Experience applying data QC protocols
- Experience writing succinct, accurate data reports
- Excellent proof-reading skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Systematic and methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to present data and communicate results effectively and clearly
- Highly motivated, technical team player who is organised, logical, and methodical
- Willingness to work from our Devon office preferred; a driving licence may be helpful but is not required
Responsibilities
- Complete metocean data processing, report writing, and quality control for measurement project outputs
- Handle final deliverables across all measurement projects, including data and reporting
- Understand the technical outputs of meteorological and oceanographic equipment in our equipment pool
- Use MATLAB data processing scripts and additional toolboxes
- Scrutinise data for errors, outliers, and potential equipment issues
- Coordinate with the team to process and analyse meteorological and oceanographic data
- Write scientifically robust technical reports
- Deliver work to required standards and meet client deadlines
- Format, check, and review technical reports
- Provide input into Continuous Improvement Groups
- Record non-compliance and incident reports
