Data Engineering Product Owner

Salary: £90,000 - 120,000 per year

Requirements

• Data FIRST mentality: Must have worked within Data Engineering before transitioning to Product Ownership
• Technical proficiency: Familiarity with Azure services (e.g., Data Lake, Synapse, Fabric) and Databricks for data engineering and analytics
• Development Framework experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Stack Technologies
• Experience with cloud infrastructure: Implementing and optimizing scalable solutions is highly valued
• Backlog management: Expertise in maintaining and prioritizing product backlogs and writing detailed user stories
• Agile product ownership: Experience in SAFe or similar agile frameworks
• Cross-team collaboration: Ability to work effectively across engineering, analytics, and business teams
• KPI management: Capability to track and analyze KPIs to guide product improvements
• Technical acumen: Solid understanding of modern data platforms and cloud-native infrastructures
• Communication skills: Excellent ability to convey technical concepts to various audiences
• Collaboration and flexibility: Experience with distributed teams in dynamic environments
• Innovation mindset: Passion for leveraging analytics, AI, and cloud technologies
• Nice to have: Experience in an Accountancy firm or a Big 4 player

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the development and execution of data engineering products
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful sprint goals and backlog prioritization
• Facilitate daily scrums and sprint planning sessions following agile methodologies
• Engage with data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration processes
• Communicate and present data concepts to various stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for product enhancements
• Foster cross-team collaboration and establish effective workflows across engineering and analytics teams
• Develop proof of concepts and support execution on complex global products
• Embrace innovation to leverage advanced analytics, AI, and cloud technologies in product delivery
