Job Description

As a Staff Quality Engineer you are a leader with credible domain and functional expertise as demonstrated by the successful technical solution implementations by the team.

You provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to your team and others on industry standard best quality assurance practices. You bring your experience and expertise in planning, designing, writing and implementing effective tests based on use cases in your domain.

You leverage testing tools effectively and is up to speed on latest tools and technologies, proposing new tools that will help the EIS Insurance tests to be scalable, performant, reliable and easily maintainable.

You have the ability to effectively juggle multiple priorities and take part in technical design solution discussions collaboratively working with the engineers in coming up with best ways of completing their solutions with well designed automated processes.

You have the ability to identify patterns, and identify test solutions, influencing your team and others to adopt pattern solutions you propose. You are able to provide effective feedback and is receptive to feedback.

You will be expected to identify interdependencies and escalate potential impact with multiple systems or source of record domains that the team interfaces with, providing suggestions or solutions to potential issues.

You proactively inspect tests anticipating and handling issues and alerts before they arise, continually iterating tests to discover issues before they happen. You are expected to write automated functional, regression, load and performance tests.

Designing Solutions Apply technical knowledge to drive outcomes for customers Ability to work and problem solve independently on initiatives that align to the broader software engineering strategy Implementing Solutions Team player, who works independently in developing core software product tests and collaborates with the product team members to get feedback and code review on tests written.

Consistent and dependable in delivering core software tests that delivers outcomes and meets/exceeds the teams expectations for stability, scalability, resilience, etc. Aims to reduce incidents and bugs by writing good performing automated tests that proactively catches issues.

Member can independently handle all phases of the API development lifecycle, from design to deployment. Learning and Applying New Techniques Shares new ideas and techniques with team; Encourages and mentors engineers to invest in learning and writing automated tests.

Team Collaboration Participates in teams collaboration sessions. Participates in product planning and implementation. Participates and engages in all aspects of Agile Scrum ceremonies. Provides clear updates on work items and reasons for delivery issues.

Develop and maintain comprehensive technical design, and development documentation. Ensure code changes work seamlessly across all environments, with a proactive approach to testing beyond QA.

Defining Quality Engineering Standards and Patterns Contributes to develop quality engineering practices , templates and frameworks in collaboration with the team and the QA Engineering center of practice teams.

DevOps Continuously assessing tools & technology to build more stable, scalable, and resilient software. Effectively use data to measure progress statistic on incidents, production defects and sprint bugs . Knowledge, understanding and implementing changes via CI/CD pipeline.

Participates in the team support rotation. Coaching Engineers as QA SME Mentor and train team members, sharing knowledge and expertise, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Provide domain expertise on software quality assurance products and practices, helping the team to adapt writing automated tests based on patterns, templates and code you demonstrated helping them learn/grow their skills in automation.

Recruiting/Building Talent Engage in the tech community to build the client's technology brand and position as the employer of choice in the market Contribute to the recruitment to define the structure of the interview process to hire the right talent to the team.

Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or other technical field or equivalent work experience Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of Java 17, Spring Boot 2-3, REST and SOAP APIs, Kafka connectors and Kafka Streams, GraphQL, GitHub Actions, Terraform, RabbitMQ, DynamoDB, Openshift, Azure AD, HashiCorp Vault, and JSON, Yaml.

Architectural Knowledge: Expertise in event-driven architecture, pub/sub models, and microservices. Monitoring Tools: Datadog, ELK, or Swarmia, including application tools. Software Tools: Experience with Atlassian products, including Jira and Confluence.
