DevOps Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements

• Active SC clearance
• Strong experience deploying and operating solutions in AWS
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform
• CI/CD pipeline development using GitLab CI
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
• Understanding of secure DevOps practices in regulated environments
• Experience working with large data stores or big data platforms
• Desirable: experience supporting AI or data-driven platforms
• Desirable: knowledge of cyber security or fraud prevention domains
• Desirable: experience working within government or critical national infrastructure environments

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy solutions in AWS cloud environments
• Use infrastructure as code to ensure repeatable and compliant deployments
• Configure, manage and maintain GitLab CI pipelines
• Automate testing, build and deployment of infrastructure, applications, and services
• Promote best practice DevOps ways of working across environments
• Implement unit, integration, and performance testing for all components
• Ensure solutions are reliable, reproducible, and stable across releases
• Support continuous improvement of testing practices
• Implement observability and monitoring tooling
• Track system performance and detect anomalies
• Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis in live environments
• Work closely with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders
• Translate requirements into working technical solutions
• Support deployment, handover, and ongoing optimization of delivered capabilities
