Senior Software Engineer Java

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements

• We require 5+ years of experience delivering multi-tier, highly scalable, distributed web applications.
• We require a deep understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design principles, and data structures.
• We require extensive experience developing microservices using Java and Python.
• We require experience with test-driven development and automating test cases using Java or Python.
• We require experience in SQL and NoSQL database design, including Oracle and Cassandra.
• We require demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-driven, and make practical trade-offs based on business needs.
• We require strong verbal and written communication skills.
• We require a BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• We value experience with distributed computing frameworks such as Hive, Hadoop, and Apache Spark.
• We value experience developing Finance or HR-related applications.
• We value experience with AWS services including Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, S3, CloudFront, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, ElastiCache, and Lambda.
• We value working experience with Terraform.
• We value experience creating workflows for Apache Airflow.

Responsibilities

• We design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications and services.
• We contribute to the web technology and framework stack, including use case and data model design.
• We drive architecture discussions and take ownership of new projects.
• We deliver high-quality software under tight timelines.
• We partner with security and compliance teams to ensure our applications meet compliance, security, and audit requirements.
• We participate in the continual improvement of engineering tools, cloud-based technologies and services, and processes.
• We define and participate in our Agile development process, including scoping, technical design, estimation, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance, and support.
• We collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
