Requirements
- We require proven experience as a Network Security Engineer or similar hands-on security engineering role.
- We require strong expertise with enterprise Next Generation Firewalls, especially Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet.
- We require experience with firewall policy administration, security profile configuration, and lifecycle management.
- We require experience using management platforms such as Panorama, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
- We require strong routing and switching fundamentals.
- We require experience with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platforms and architectures.
- We require experience with load balancing and application delivery technologies, primarily F5.
- We require experience with email security gateways and email hygiene solutions such as Mimecast.
- We require experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- We require experience with laptop build and endpoint configuration processes aligned to organisational standards.
- We require experience with pre-logon authentication and Host Integrity Profile implementation and support.
- We require experience with certificate services administration and secure VPN configuration.
- We require experience with Exposure and Vulnerability Management platforms such as Tenable One.
- We require strong analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- We require understanding of security architecture principles and secure design practices.
- We require experience supporting or contributing to Security Risk Assessments.
- We require the ability to produce and maintain network diagrams, High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, security designs, and risk assessment documentation.
- We require working knowledge of AWS and Azure infrastructure and cloud security services.
- We require strong stakeholder engagement and customer-facing communication skills.
- We require the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- We require experience working within SAFe, Scrum, or similar Agile delivery frameworks.
- We require previous experience within an MSSP or highly regulated environment, such as nuclear, utilities, defence, or critical infrastructure, as an advantage.
Responsibilities
- We will have you operate as part of our Security Engineering team delivering enterprise security capabilities.
- We will have you work within SAFe Agile practices and participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other delivery ceremonies.
- We will have you maintain accurate workload management, delivery tracking, and time logging within Jira.
- We will have you engineer, support, and maintain NGFW and SASE solutions.
- We will have you translate customer and operational requirements into actionable engineering tasks and technical solutions.
- We will have you provide technical escalation support to junior engineers and operational teams.
- We will have you produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including knowledge base articles and operational procedures.
- We will have you deliver technical knowledge transfer sessions and support capability uplift across the wider team.
- We will have you participate in occasional out-of-hours support for priority changes or incident response.
- We will have you support the administration and continuous improvement of critical security platforms and services.

We are seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer Contractor to join our high-performing Security Engineering team supporting enterprise-scale security infrastructure and transformation initiatives. This is a 6-month initial contract on an inside IR35 basis, offered remotely at £550 per day. You will work in a SAFe-aligned Agile delivery environment alongside multidisciplinary teams including IT Operations, Security Operations, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Architecture, and Engineering. Our environment is complex and regulated, and experience in an MSSP or critical infrastructure setting would be advantageous.
