Senior Security Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• Eligible for DV clearance
• Experience in several of the following areas: VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy (GPO), Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
• Experience in security technologies such as Trellix / McAfee, SIEM platforms, syslog reporting and integration, antivirus technologies, TLS certificates, PKI concepts, and secure gateway technologies
• Linux administration and scripting skills, including shell scripting and regular expressions (Regex)
• Firewall configuration and management experience
• Experience with LDAP directory services, LDIF, email protocols and standards, and chat/messaging technologies (XMPP desirable)
• Experience with XML, JSON schema, file format validation and analysis, and web protocols
• A background in infrastructure, security, systems, or application engineering, with interest in developing further into architecture

Responsibilities

• Support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of secure gateway solutions
• Produce technical designs and documentation for customer-driven change requests
• Work closely with Solution Architects, Engineering Leads, and operational support teams
• Support service availability, resilience, and security improvements
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues
• Assist SOC and 3rd Line teams with incident investigation and resolution
• Manage and maintain directory services, messaging systems, and gateway technologies
• Create scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency
• Support the full change lifecycle from design through deployment and support
