PHP Support Engineer

Salary: £25,000 - 35,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for a seasoned developer with broad experience across multiple platforms and technologies.
• We need strong expertise in PHP, including OOP, MVC, and HMVC.
• We need experience with Laravel and its surrounding ecosystem.
• We need experience with WordPress, Shopify, and Shopware.
• Experience with Cake PHP is useful for support work.
• We need familiarity with frontend frameworks and tools such as Tailwind, React, Vue, ES6, Svite, and Vite.
• We need experience with databases such as MySQL, MariaDB, and Postgres.
• We are looking for an expert problem solver and logical thinker.
• We need someone who is organised, efficient, and comfortable solving complex problems.
• Experience with DevOps is useful.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services is useful.
• Experience with Nginx, Apache, DNS management, Node.js, Zabbix, or New Relic is useful.
• We require strong back-end development experience, ideally 10 years.
• We require strong database experience, ideally 10 years.
• Web development experience of around 10 years is preferred.
• This role may suit someone later in their career who has grown with technology over many years.
• We are open to full-time, part-time, or job-share arrangements.

Responsibilities

• We solve challenging technical problems across a wide range of platforms.
• We build and support solutions in PHP and related frameworks and platforms.
• We develop and maintain work in Laravel, WordPress, Shopify, Shopware, and supporting legacy Cake PHP systems.
• We work across frontend and backend technologies as needed.
• We manage and work with databases and related data systems.
• We keep clients happy by delivering reliable, effective solutions.
• We collaborate with the team remotely and stay connected through Slack.
• We work independently from home and stay self-motivated.
• We help maintain a fast-paced environment where every day brings different challenges.
• We stay current with technology and respond quickly to new technical developments.
