Salary: £84,000 - 84,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong experience of V&V activities in an embedded software environment.
• Ability to turn requirements into structured test cases and procedures.
• Experience of working in a lab environment on an electro-mechanical product running embedded software.
• Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle.
• Scripting abilities.
• Embedded software development experience using C, C++ or Ada.
• Safety critical systems experience (advantageous).
• Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330 (advantageous).
• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (advantageous).
• Model Driven Design experience (advantageous).
• Knowledge of test automation methods (advantageous).
• Knowledge of DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, LDRA (advantageous).
• Breakpoint Analysis experience (advantageous).
• Experience of Focused Code Reviews (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the verification and validation activities on real-time systems application software for the next generation of Missile Systems.
• Develop robust test cases from requirements.
• Prepare and execute tests, capturing data and delivering actionable feedback to project teams.
• Utilize strong practical problem-solving skills and data acquisition expertise.
• Adapt to various challenges in the testing process.

We are a world-class Defence Organisation looking for dedicated Embedded Software V&V Engineers as subcontractors for an initial 6-month contract. Our department is responsible for creating complex, highly reliable real-time software that powers missile systems and their components. We offer a competitive rate of £70.00 per hour, with the flexibility of working in Stevenage or Bristol, and options for a hybrid or remote work schedule. Our contract consists of 37 hours per week, with overtime calculated at time and a quarter for hours over 37. Our team is heavily involved throughout the development lifecycle, from concept studies through to trials and production.
