Senior Systems Administrator

Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience in a systems administrator or infrastructure role
• Strong Linux administration skills
• Knowledge of Kubernetes
• Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or VMware is desirable
• Strong understanding of IPtables and firewalls
• Experience working in on-premises environments
• Some Azure or other cloud experience, with willingness to support a move toward cloud infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Support and administer our infrastructure in a fast-paced technology environment
• Work primarily in our on-premises environment as we transition further toward cloud platforms
• Administer Linux systems and related infrastructure
• Work with Kubernetes, firewalls, and IPtables
• Support cloud initiatives across Azure or other cloud platforms
• Contribute to infrastructure tooling and automation where applicable

We are a technology division of a global company offering an opportunity to join our Infrastructure team as a Senior Systems Administrator. The role can be fully remote or hybrid if you live in the Newcastle area and prefer it. We work in a fast-paced environment and are evolving our infrastructure from on-premises toward Azure and cloud technologies. The salary is negotiable depending on experience, with a basic package expected around £60,000 to £70,000 plus benefits.
