Senior Security Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer with experience in infrastructure, security, systems, or application engineering.
• We are looking for someone eligible for DV clearance.
• We would like experience across several of the following areas: VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and Remote Desktop Services.
• We are interested in candidates with security experience in Trellix or McAfee technologies, SIEM platforms, syslog reporting and integration, antivirus technologies, TLS certificates, PKI concepts, and secure gateway technologies.
• We value Linux administration, shell scripting, regular expressions, and firewall configuration and management.
• We would like experience with LDAP directory services, LDIF, email protocols and standards, and chat and messaging technologies, with XMPP desirable.
• We are also interested in experience with XML, JSON schema, file format validation and analysis, and web protocols.
• We are looking for someone comfortable producing technical designs and documentation.
• We would like candidates who can work across the full lifecycle of solutions and are interested in developing further into architecture.
• A background in a highly secure and business-critical environment would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• We support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of secure gateway solutions.
• We produce technical designs and documentation for customer-driven change requests.
• We work closely with Solution Architects, Engineering Leads, and operational support teams.
• We support service availability, resilience, and security improvements.
• We troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues.
• We assist SOC and 3rd line teams with incident investigation and resolution.
• We manage and maintain directory services, messaging systems, and gateway technologies.
• We create scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency.
• We support the full change lifecycle from design through deployment and support.
• We contribute to a collaborative team delivering secure gateway technologies and associated infrastructure services.
