We work closely with our clients as an extension of their teams, combining software engineering, data, analytics, automation, cloud technologies, and business expertise to solve complex problems.

As our Data & Analytics practice grows, we are looking for a talented Data & Analytics Engineer who can grow with us. This position will begin as a part-time contract role at approximately 10-20 hours per week.

Our goal is to develop a long-term relationship with the right person, with the potential for increased responsibility, additional hours, and eventual conversion to a full-time Encircle Systems employee as the practice continues to grow.

The Opportunity This role will work directly with Encircle's clients and internal technology team to develop reports, dashboards, data models, and analytics solutions that help business leaders make better decisions.

The person joining us will initially support an established client with a growing portfolio of business intelligence, reporting, and data initiatives. You will work with technologies including Microsoft Power BI, SQL, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise business systems.

You will also help support Encircle's Reports Hub platform, which provides organizations with a centralized way to access and manage reporting across multiple systems. This is not simply a dashboard-development position.

We are looking for someone who is interested in understanding the business behind the data, working directly with stakeholders, solving data problems, and ultimately helping build a broader Data & Analytics capability within Encircle Systems.

What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards. Write and optimize SQL queries used for reporting, analysis, and data validation. Develop and maintain data models supporting business intelligence solutions.

Gather reporting and analytics requirements directly from business stakeholders. Translate business questions into meaningful reports, metrics, and visualizations. Investigate data discrepancies and help identify underlying data-quality issues.

Validate reporting results against source systems and business expectations. Support existing enterprise reports and analytics solutions. Assist with the development and ongoing expansion of the Encircle Reports Hub platform.

Help onboard reports and reporting resources from multiple systems into Reports Hub. Work with data from enterprise applications and operational systems. Support data integration and transformation efforts as needed.

Help establish reusable reporting standards, documentation, and best practices. Collaborate with software engineers, architects, business stakeholders, and client leadership.

Gradually take ownership of recurring reporting and analytics responsibilities as your knowledge of the client's business grows. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who combines technical ability with curiosity and strong problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate has experience with: Microsoft Power BI SQL and relational databases Data modeling and report development Building dashboards and business-facing analytics Understanding and translating business requirements Data validation and troubleshooting Working with business stakeholders to understand what they are trying to accomplish You should be comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with a small, experienced technology team.

Preferred Experience Experience in some of the following areas would be beneficial but is not required: Microsoft Azure Microsoft Fabric Azure SQL Data warehouses or lakehouse architectures ETL/ELT and data transformation Power Query DAX APIs and system integrations Microsoft Entra ID / Azure Active Directory Financial or operational reporting Enterprise resource planning (ERP) or construction-related business systems Data governance and data-quality practices We do not expect candidates to know every technology listed above.

Schedule and Growth Opportunity This position will initially average approximately 10-20 hours per week. Hours may fluctuate somewhat depending on client priorities and project demand.

We want to be transparent about that from the beginning and do not want to promise a full-time workload before the business supports it. At the same time, Encircle is actively growing its Data & Analytics capabilities.

Our goal is to find someone who can begin with us in a part-time capacity, become increasingly involved in our client engagements, and potentially transition into a full-time role as demand continues to grow.

For the right person, this role has the opportunity to develop beyond report development and into broader ownership and leadership within Encircle's Data & Analytics practice. Compensation $50 per hour This is initially a contract position. Why Encircle?
