Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements
- We have significant prior experience in a cloud engineering role, with a strong foundation in successfully building and deploying services in the cloud.
- We have deep knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- We have hands-on experience delivering software using multiple programming languages and a thorough knowledge of modern software engineering best practices.
- We have experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- We have experience working within multidisciplinary teams where product, design, and technical disciplines collaborate successfully.
- We have experience working in a technology consultancy environment.
- We hold relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Developer, DevOps Engineer, Security, Advanced Networking, or Azure Developer, Security, DevOps, Network Engineer.
- We have knowledge of cloud vendor partner programs such as AWS APN and Azure Partners.
- We have experience with well-architected frameworks.
- We have knowledge of UK public sector technology guidance and frameworks such as NCSCs Cyber Assessment Framework and the Technology Code of Practice.
- We are familiar with Python, Bash, and JavaScript.
- We have experience with Agile practices such as Scrum, XP, and/or Kanban.
- We have experience using Test Driven Development.
Responsibilities
- We collaborate within cross-functional teams to design cloud architectures that meet client requirements for scalability, performance, and security.
- We deploy and manage cloud resources, containers, and related services using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- We configure and maintain networking, security, and access control in the cloud environment.
- We implement and maintain robust security practices to protect data and resources in the cloud environment.
- We develop and maintain automated processes for provisioning, monitoring, and scaling cloud resources, including CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployments.
- We monitor cloud infrastructure for performance bottlenecks and proactively optimise resource usage.
- We implement load balancing, caching, and content delivery solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
- We design and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
- We create and maintain runbooks, including configuration management and standard operating procedures.
- We provide high-tier support for client applications and infrastructure, including occasional on-call cover.
- We ensure necessary compliance standards are met and certifications are maintained.
- We evaluate and recommend cloud services, tools, and solutions to meet common client scenarios.
- We stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and share knowledge with the team.
- We collaborate with other teams within Made Tech to ensure alignment with cloud best practices.
- We line manage and mentor more junior colleagues to support their development, career goals, and performance.
