Software Engineer - Platform Team

Salary: £80,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong software engineering foundations with depth in at least one language, such as Java, C#, Go, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript
• Considered views on testing, including unit, integration, and contract testing as a first-class part of shipping software
• Hands-on experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions
• A track record of building tooling or automation that other engineers depend on
• Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or CDK
• Comfortable running containerised workloads in production
• AWS experience is a strong plus
• Exposure to continuous release practices and progressive delivery is a strong plus

Responsibilities

• Design and build internal developer tooling, templates, and scaffolding that make the right way to build software the easy way
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that are reliable, observable, and easy to work with
• Own infrastructure as code for the platform layer by writing production-grade infrastructure code
• Collaborate directly with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to understand pain points and deliver effective tooling
• Set patterns and standards that other engineers will build on
• Treat developer experience as a product and internal teams as our users

We are a well-established UK SaaS business operating at scale and serving enterprise customers across regulated industries worldwide. We have a newly formed Platform Engineering Group with 2 teams of 3+ within a larger global Engineering function of 50+ across 3 main product streams. This is a fully remote role based in the UK, with occasional team days in our London HQ. The salary is £80,000 to £85,000 depending on experience, plus a 10% bonus and an extensive benefits package including private health insurance, income protection, life assurance, a subsidised gym, pension, and 25 days holiday plus your birthday off.
