Job Description

The Business Intelligence Developer is a hands‑on business intelligence professional responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of enterprise‑grade dashboards and reporting solutions.

This role serves as a subject‑matter expert in Power BI and partners closely with BI Engineers and data platform teams to ensure scalable, well‑modeled data structures that support business intelligence tools and performance at scale.

The role blends deep technical expertise with strong consulting and advisory skills, helping shape both front‑end visualization standards and back‑end data modeling decisions.

Essential Functions Power BI Development & Visualization Lead the design and development of advanced Power BI reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders and/or clientsServe as a Power BI subject‑matter expert, advising on best practices for DAX, data modeling, Power Query, and visualization designDevelop complex DAX measures and calculations to support analytical use casesOptimize report performance, dataset size, refresh strategies, and semantic modelsEstablish and promote visualization and dashboard standards across teams Data Modeling & Engineering Partnership Partner closely with BI Engineers and data platform teams to:Advise on data structures, dimensional models, and semantic layersEnsure data models are optimized for BI consumption and performanceIdentify gaps or inefficiencies in source data that impact reportingTranslate reporting requirements into clear data model and source table recommendationsHelp bridge the gap between business requirements and technical data design Cross‑Tool & Analytical Support Create and maintain both technical and design standards for business intelligence productsContribute to decision‑making around tool usage, migration, or standardization, where applicable Stakeholder Engagement Partner with analytics leaders and business stakeholders to define requirements and success criteriaReview and validate analytical outputs for accuracy, clarity, and business relevanceSupport UAT, dashboard certification, training, and knowledge transfer Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.)5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data visualizationExperience supporting executive or client‑facing dashboardsExpert‑level experience with Power BI, including:Advanced DAXData modeling and semantic layersPower BI Service administration conceptsStrong SQL skills and experience working directly with enterprise data warehousesDemonstrated experience collaborating with BI Engineers or data engineers on data modeling decisionsExperience working in Snowflake, Azure, Databricks, or similar cloud data platformsAbility to influence technical design without direct ownership of data pipelinesIntermediate to advanced experience in Tableau (development or strong comprehension) strongly preferredExperience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated data environments strongly preferred IQVIA is a leading global provider of clinical research services, commercial insights and healthcare intelligence to the life sciences and healthcare industries.

We appreciate your honesty and professionalism. The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $84,600.00 - $211,600.00.

The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).

Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
