Director of Software Engineering - Healthcare Applications

Salary: £110,000 - 135,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven senior leadership ownership of software engineering with full business accountability
• Strong commercial mindset with a track record of delivering growth in enterprise software
• Experience delivering large-scale, regulated, or mission-critical platforms
• Demonstrated success leading AI-enabled or technology-led transformation
• Strong cross-functional influence and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience leading global, multi-time-zone teams of 60+ headcount
• Knowledge of UK clinical, healthcare software, or regulated software environments is preferred
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Own software engineering end to end, including architecture, delivery, and lifecycle
• Drive growth through differentiated capabilities, faster time to value, and commercial execution
• Deliver high-quality, mission-critical, regulated clinical software with clear accountability for outcomes
• Lead AI-first transformation across platforms and engineering practices to improve velocity, quality, and cost to serve
• Partner with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Services, and Support to accelerate go-to-market, implementations, renewals, and expansion
• Lead globally distributed teams with strong execution discipline and outcome-based accountability
• Oversee software engineering delivery for established, market-leading products
• Shape future development based on customer-led requirements
• Leverage AI across the software engineering organization

We are hiring a Director of Software Engineering for our healthcare applications portfolio on a remote basis. This is a senior leadership role where we own end-to-end engineering delivery and commercial outcomes across our UK and global software products. We are looking for someone who can drive product growth, lead global platform convergence, and embed AI as a core productivity and differentiation capability. This is an exciting time to join as we invest in well-established, market-leading products and future development is shaped by customer-led requirements. The role will suit a leader who has already owned strategic decision-making across a software engineering organization and can operate with accountability across a globally distributed team of around 65 people.
