Frontend Developer (UI Development, Web Applications & User Experience Implementation) The Donovan’s Venom (501c3 Nonprofit) Department: Technology / Applications & Platforms Location: Remote Position Type: Volunteer Role Reports To: Applications & Platforms Manager / Technology Leadership Position Overview The Frontend Developer is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing user-facing interfaces across the organization’s web platforms and applications.

This role ensures that designs are translated into responsive, accessible, and high-performing user experiences. Operating at the intersection of development, design implementation, and user experience, this role is critical to delivering functional and engaging digital products.

Key Responsibilities Frontend DevelopmentDevelop and maintain user interfaces using: HTML CSS JavaScript Build responsive and interactive web components UI/UX ImplementationTranslate design mockups into functional interfaces Ensure accuracy and consistency with design specifications Improve usability and user experience Responsive Design & CompatibilityEnsure interfaces work across: Devices (desktop, tablet, mobile) Browsers Maintain consistent user experience Performance OptimizationOptimize frontend performance Improve load times and responsiveness Reduce rendering and resource inefficiencies Accessibility ImplementationImplement accessibility best practices Support compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) Ensure inclusive user experiences Code Quality & StandardsWrite clean, maintainable, and scalable code Follow development standards and best practices Support code reviews and improvements Cross-Functional CollaborationWork with: Designers (UI/UX alignment) Backend developers (integration) Product or program teams Ensure seamless integration across systems Debugging & Issue ResolutionIdentify and fix frontend issues Troubleshoot bugs and inconsistencies Maintain stable and functional interfaces Component & Asset ManagementBuild reusable UI components Maintain organized frontend assets Support scalable development DocumentationDocument code, components, and processes Ensure clarity for future development Continuous ImprovementImprove frontend architecture and workflows Stay current with modern frameworks and best practices Enhance overall user experience Volunteer Commitment Expectations Estimated Commitment: 10-15 hours per week Flexible schedule Participation in development meetings required Fully remote Minimum Qualifications 2–4 years of experience in: Frontend development Web development Strong skills in: HTML, CSS, JavaScript Experience building responsive interfaces Preferred Qualifications Experience with: Frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) Version control (e.g., Git) Familiarity with: Accessibility standards Performance optimization techniques Experience in remote teams Core Competencies Frontend Development Builds functional and responsive interfaces Implements designs effectively Performance Optimization Improves speed and efficiency Enhances user experience Problem Solving Troubleshoots and resolves issues Maintains stability Attention to Detail Ensures accuracy in UI implementation Maintains clean code Collaboration Works effectively with design and backend teams Aligns with cross-functional goals Adaptability Adjusts to evolving requirements Learns and applies new technologies Work Environment Fully remote Collaborative development environment Cross-functional with design and product teams Important Disclaimer This is a volunteer position and does not constitute employment.
