Technical Architect

Salary: £48,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Architect across multiple technology domains
• Strong knowledge of frameworks such as ITIL, Prince2, TOGAF, and Archimate
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working in matrixed environments and fast-paced delivery settings
• Strong organisational and project management capabilities
• Automation experience, including Power Platform, UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere
• AI knowledge, including LLMs, Copilots, and the Microsoft AI ecosystem
• Data platform experience, including Microsoft Fabric or Databricks
• Broad enterprise technology exposure, including ServiceNow, CRM, ERP, EUC, infrastructure, and cloud
• Solid understanding of Azure and cyber security frameworks, including SIEM, XDR, NIST, and ISO27001

Responsibilities

• Define scalable architectures, data flows, and system integrations
• Shape technical strategy aligned to business goals and standards
• Provide high-level technical architecture leadership across automation and AI programmes
• Design robust, future-proof solutions to meet evolving needs
• Evaluate emerging technologies and deliver proof-of-concepts
• Support the full project lifecycle from concept to implementation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Identify and manage technical risks and dependencies
• Drive operational efficiency, automation, and reduced technical debt
• Support M&A through technical due diligence and system integration

We are an established engineering and renewable-based company seeking a Technical Architect to support an AI and Automation project within our Technology programme. This is a 6-month contract with the view to extension, offered on competitive hourly rates inside IR35. The role is remote with two days onsite travel in Birchwood, Warrington, and travel costs for site visits are expensed. We are looking for a Technical Architect first and foremost, with automation expertise as a secondary strength. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national.
