Requirements

• We require active SC Security Clearance and NPPV3 Security Clearance.
• We require strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices development.
• We require experience working with AWS cloud environments.
• We require experience with CI/CD for Java applications, including tools such as Jenkins and GitHub.
• We require experience with Docker, ECS, and EKS.
• We require the ability to work effectively in an Agile delivery environment.
• We prefer Scrum, AWS, or SAFe certifications such as CSM or PSM.

Responsibilities

• We lead Scrum ceremonies and support effective sprint planning, execution, and delivery outcomes.
• We act as a technical authority within the squad, working closely with Technical Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Testers.
• We review and challenge Java and Spring Boot microservices code to ensure clean code, performance, scalability, and best practice.
• We influence software engineering decisions on Java frameworks, design patterns, and implementation approaches.
• We drive code quality improvements through reviews, static analysis, and test coverage.
• We optimise CI/CD pipelines for Java-based services, including build, test, and deployment automation.
• We track delivery using DORA metrics and software engineering KPIs.
• We monitor pipeline performance, defect rates, and service reliability.
• We help drive secure, high-quality delivery of application and DevOps services across AWS platforms.

We are a leading global IT transformation business specialising in delivering large-scale Government and Public Sector projects. This is a 6-month contract based in Birmingham on a hybrid working model, with three days remote and two days on-site in our Birmingham office, plus occasional travel to our Croydon office. The role is outside IR35, starts as soon as possible in July 2026, and offers the opportunity to combine Agile leadership with deep technical influence in a hands-on Scrum Master position.
