Network Engineer (Gigamon/Juniper/Cisco)

Salary: £15,000 - 18,000 per year

Requirements

• We are looking for a Network Engineer with expertise in Gigamon, Juniper, or Cisco and an active SC Clearance. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in network engineering, especially with Cisco projects, and a proven track record of implementing hardware at customer sites. A strong understanding of Gigamon solutions and onboarding processes is essential. If you do not have Gigamon experience, extensive experience with Juniper or Cisco will suffice. Additionally, you should possess clear and professional communication skills for interacting with colleagues, management, and customers. Experience in supporting large government programs or high-security environments is required. You should have a proactive and positive approach, with the ability to work independently and troubleshoot technical issues.

Responsibilities

• In this hands-on role, I expect you to remotely configure hardware under the direction of a technical team lead. You will build, configure, and harden Juniper switches following detailed build guides. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and onboarding Gigamon physical appliances to the Gigavue FM Management Server. You may need to travel to customer sites to install hardware within racks and provide remote hardware support during customer testing phases. It is vital to deliver regular progress updates to the Project Manager and technical leads and ensure that new hardware is successfully integrated into support processes. You should also be prepared to support out-of-hours work as required due to customer operational schedules.
