Requirements
- Strong infrastructure background with exposure to Azure and the Microsoft stack
- Experience coaching or mentoring engineers in a hands-on environment
- Confidence to challenge where needed while remaining pragmatic
- A people-focused leadership style and the ability to bring a team with us
- Solid understanding of security fundamentals in an operational setting
- Experience working in multi-site environments
- Exposure to Azure services such as Logic Apps and Data Factory, or low/no-code tooling
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota for P1 incidents
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day infrastructure and platform operations across Azure and Microsoft 365
- Support the development of a team of 3 engineers by providing structure, coaching, and accountability
- Own operational security activities including patching, vulnerability management, access controls, and audits
- Drive improvements in monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery
- Work closely with suppliers to improve service quality and value for money
- Support cloud journey decisions with technical knowledge and practical input
- Bring greater visibility, documentation, and operational discipline to the environment
- Provide technical guidance while remaining hands-on in the technology estate
- Help strengthen security practices and make better use of existing tooling
- Contribute to infrastructure, cloud, security, and supplier management improvements

We are recruiting for an Infrastructure & Security Engineer to step into a senior role within a growing and evolving technology estate at a pivotal point in its journey. This is a hands-on position where we want someone who can simplify, stabilise, and modernise our infrastructure and cloud environment while helping to shape security, resilience, and operational discipline. We offer a permanent position based in Coventry with hybrid working, two days in the office and three days remote. The salary is £55,000 to £60,000, along with 28 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, a holiday buy/sell scheme, company pension, cycle to work scheme, death in service cover, an employee assistance programme, and occupational health provider service.
