Salary: £64,000 - 104,000 per year

Requirements

• Deep understanding of designing and building distributed systems
• Experience working on complex challenges in critical software where high performance and robustness are essential
• Familiarity with cloud and containerisation technologies, test automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Go and a strong right tool for the job mindset
• Appreciation of clean code and software engineering best practices
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of knowledge sharing and collaboration
• Interest in owning projects end-to-end and supporting them through production

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and run cloud-native microservices in Go that power our real-time payments platform
• Build highly available, low-latency, and scalable systems that handle billions of payment requests with precision and resilience
• Take full ownership of services from initial design and implementation through deployment and production support
• Work with cost-efficiency, observability, and operational excellence as core principles
• Collaborate closely with other engineers in a flat, autonomous team structure
• Contribute to code quality, simplicity, and continuous improvement
• Work with modern tooling and technologies including Golang, Kubernetes, CockroachDB, and NATS JetStream in a highly automated DevOps environment
