Machine Learning Engineer

Salary: £44,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• Strong Python coding skills.
• Hands-On AI/ML Expertise: Built and deployed machine learning models using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• LLM Expertise: Experience with large language models, including prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, agents, evaluation, and safety considerations.
• Research experience: Reading papers, prototyping, and implementing algorithms.
• MLOps knowledge: Strong grasp of CI/CD for models, version control, monitoring, and retraining pipelines.
• Practical experience deploying AI solutions on AWS.
• Experience with containerisation for deploying and scaling AI solutions (Docker).
• Fundamental knowledge of software engineering, including version control, CI/CD, and testing.
• Expertise in ML algorithms, model development, and lifecycle tools.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into innovative AI solutions.
• Passion for staying current with the AI/ML research landscape.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models for national security problems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate AI capabilities into systems.
• Conduct research and rapid prototyping for new algorithms and techniques.
• Apply MLOps best practices for scalable, maintainable, and secure model pipelines.
• Work with large language models to build intelligent agents and enhance retrieval systems.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our AI/ML frameworks and tooling.
• Engage with clients and partners to understand challenges and deliver solutions.
