Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Lead Developer, Senior Developer, or Development Manager
• Ability to balance coding responsibilities with people management
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally
• A collaborative, pragmatic approach to improving processes
• Desire to build a high-performing engineering culture with predictable, high-quality delivery
• Understanding of the benefits and risks of adopting AI safely and effectively
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, SQL, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Turbolinks, ReactJS, NextJS, APIs, and AWS

Responsibilities

• Guide a talented engineering team and improve delivery flow
• Contribute directly to the development of new and existing products
• Collaborate with the CTO on architectural decisions and technical direction
• Improve the code review lifecycle and reduce bottlenecks
• Manage and mentor a small team of mid to senior developers
• Conduct regular coaching, 1:1 meetings, and performance reviews
• Ensure a balance between coding and management tasks in a hybrid role
