Role: AWS Cloud Engineer - AWS Compute / AMI / EC2 Platform Engineering Location: Remote, Detroit MI Duration: 6 - 12 months contract Pay rate: $65-75/hour on W2, Client will not consider C2C Job overview: The AWS Cloud Engineering III role is a hands-on technical position focused on day-to-day cloud platform operations including AWS account lifecycle management, infrastructure provisioning, compute pipeline management, security controls enforcement, and operational support.

Must Have AWS EC2 architecture including instance types, placement groups, and Auto Scaling Group lifecycle managementCloud security controls: encryption, network isolation, identity management, policy enforcementEBS volume management, encryption enforcement, and snapshot lifecycleEC2 Image Builder pipelines — recipe configuration, component authoring, image testing, and cross-account AMI distributionGolden AMI lifecycle management: base image selection, CIS benchmark hardening, security agent integration (endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning), and automated image rotation/deprecationInfrastructure as Code principles and Terraform lifecycle managementLaunch template and Auto Scaling Group integration with AMI pipelines for fleet-wide image updatesLinux/macOS command-line proficiencyProficiency in Python, Bash/Shell scriptingUnderstanding of OS hardening standards (CIS Benchmarks), patch management, and image compliance Nice to have: AWS Certifications Please send resume ASAP.
