Requirements
- We require a First Degree.
- We require Microsoft managing an SQL Server Database Course.
- We require evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
- We require T-SQL Training.
- We require Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access at an intermediate level.
- We require T-SQL at a level that allows data extraction from large, complex databases.
- We require experience managing an SQL Server 2019 instance and associated server.
- We require good analytical skills for spotting or anticipating weaknesses in processes, along with the ability to organise and implement corrections.
- We require a good understanding of technology and systems applications.
- We require metadata management knowledge.
- We require ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) knowledge.
- We require OLAP principles knowledge.
Responsibilities
- We manage our BI Teams dedicated SQL Server data warehouse on a pair of clustered physical servers day to day.
- We monitor timed SSIS and T-SQL Server Agent tasks and act as needed when issues arise.
- We act as the first point of contact for all stakeholders and either handle requests or pass them to other team members as required.
- We develop ad hoc and regular reports in response to requests for data.
- We supply our Finance team and partners with routine month-end data.
- We maintain key reference datasets with current data.
- We work flexibly as part of a team.
- We provide weekly rotational first-point-of-contact support for the Business Intelligence Team.
- We may travel to partner sites as required.
- We provide small amounts of routine weekend and public holiday support remotely on a rostered basis.

We are North West London Pathology, and this Senior Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing DBA role sits within a close-knit team providing essential management, financial and clinical reports, along with near real-time operational data, to more than 1,000 colleagues, partners and other clients. The role is primarily based at St Marys Hospital, Paddington, with the option for remote working and occasional travel to partner sites as required.
