Requirements

  • Senior-level data engineering experience in Python, ideally with exposure to advertising or auction data
  • Strong Airflow orchestration experience, including DAGs, scheduling, idempotency, and backfills
  • Solid SQL and data modelling skills for analytics at scale
  • Experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Spark
  • Demonstrated AI and agentic-tooling fluency, including building with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks
  • Clear communicator who can explain reasoning and trade-offs, not just conclusions

Responsibilities

  • Design and build data pipelines that turn advertising and auction events into reliable, analysis-ready data
  • Own Airflow-based orchestration, including DAG design, scheduling, backfills, and reliability
  • Build and maintain data models and SQL-based warehouse and lakehouse structures for Ads
  • Apply distributed data processing, such as Spark, to handle scale and performance requirements
  • Partner with engineering and business stakeholders to define and track key Ads metrics
  • Communicate technical trade-offs clearly to engineering and cross-functional partners

You will help build and own the pipelines that turn raw advertising and auction events into reliable, queryable data, working closely with our hiring managers and the wider Ads engineering group. This is a Manchester-anchored UK role, and we generally work in the office Monday through Thursday with Fridays typically flexible for remote work, depending on role and location.
