Lead UI Engineer - Belfast

Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
• Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript, and React
• Proven track record leading front-end delivery or mentoring engineers
• Strong understanding of responsive, adaptive, mobile-first design, UX principles, and reusable component libraries
• Experience with Figma/Adobe XD and collaborating with designers
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with Webpack, Babel, accessibility standards, SEO for front-end, and design systems (desirable)
• Experience working in cross-functional product teams (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end engineering, building responsive, mobile-first UI with HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript (ES6), and TypeScript
• Develop robust React applications with SSR, reusable component libraries, and scalable architecture
• Collaborate closely with UX, visual designers, and back-end teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality interfaces
• Mentor and support front-end engineers, running code reviews and guiding best practices
• Communicate design and technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including clients
• Contribute to project scoping, estimation, and delivery planning
• Debug, optimize, and maintain performance, accessibility, and test coverage of web applications
