Storage & Backup Specialist

Salary: £66,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements

• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) and/or NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or equivalent demonstrable experience
• Proven experience supporting enterprise backup, restore, and storage platforms
• Deep experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
• Strong knowledge of NetApp storage platforms
• Backup, restore, and disaster recovery design and testing expertise
• Experience with data protection in secure and regulated environments
• Skills in capacity planning and performance optimisation
• Understanding of backup encryption, retention and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist support for enterprise storage and data protection platforms
• Focus on Veeam and physical storage technologies
• Ensure data availability, integrity, and recoverability in a secure environment
• Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery capabilities
• Assist with platform optimisation to meet operational and compliance requirements
• Leverage strong technical depth in supporting business-critical systems

We are a central government client based in Milton Keynes, offering a hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 3 days remotely. We are looking to engage a Storage & Backup SME for an initial 6-month contract, with a focus on ensuring the integrity of data protection services within our secure environment.
