Application Architect

Salary: £55,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Application Architect or similar role
• Strong knowledge of application and platform architecture principles
• Experience in managing architectural risks and technical debt
• Familiarity with AI and digital transformation initiatives
• Ability to assess and evaluate vendor solutions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Understanding of integration patterns, data flows, and interoperability standards

Responsibilities

• Act as the design authority for application architecture across the organization
• Assess and approve proposed applications, platforms, and system changes
• Provide architectural input into build vs buy decisions and vendor evaluations
• Define and maintain integration patterns, data flows, and interoperability standards
• Shape and enable fast-moving AI and digital innovation initiatives
• Identify and manage architectural risks and technical debt
• Collaborate with delivery teams, product owners, and security stakeholders to guide solutions
• Maintain application landscape documentation, including capability maps and system relationship diagrams
